Our Story
Eleven Bibury is the vision of our founder, Lady Anne Evans. Inspired by the ideals of the Arts & Crafts Movement and her lifelong love of history, art, and design, she has reimagined a set of centuries-old buildings in the heart of Bibury. Opposite the historic Arlington Row, the property was carefully restored over four years, with artisans commissioned and bespoke pieces sourced to honour its heritage while giving it a new life. Today, Eleven Bibury is a celebration of craftsmanship, authenticity, and community - a place to slow down, enjoy seasonal food, and discover objects of beauty and purpose.

Our Values
Lady Anne Evans
As a child, Lady Anne spent weekends exploring National Trust houses, fascinated by the lives and stories within historic walls. That early curiosity grew into a career in advertising, where she honed her creativity and resilience, and later into a lifelong exploration of art, design, and interiors.
When an abandoned building came up for sale in her home village of Bibury, it sparked a vision: to restore the site and create something truly unique. The result is Eleven Bibury - a place that embodies her love of history, craft, and community, and which she describes as her life’s work.
From William Morris to Eleven Bibury
The Arts & Crafts Movement emerged in the late 19th century, championing beauty, craftsmanship, and integrity at a time of growing industrialisation. The Cotswolds became its creative heartland, attracting artisans and designers who sought inspiration in natural materials and honest making. William Morris himself, the Movement’s leading figure, famously described Bibury as “the most beautiful village in England.”
At Eleven Bibury, we carry this spirit forward. From the restoration of our buildings to the Makers we showcase, every detail is guided by the same belief: that life is enriched when the useful is also beautiful.
“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”
- William Morris
